Yahya Al Ofairi Yemenia  Natural

Yahya AlOfairi, born in 1976, is a dedicated coffee farmer from the village of Bani Ofair in Yemen. Growing up in a family with deep agricultural roots, he began working on the farm alongside his father at the age of 15. Now, Yahya manages the farm with the help of his family of eight, all of whom contribute to the daily work.
Bani Ofair’s coffee is known for its exceptional quality and distinctive flavour, shaped by the village’s unique microclimate and high elevation. The region's rugged terrain and careful farming techniques produce coffee that is rich, complex, and vibrant. However, coffee farming in Yemen comes with significant challenges, including pests, diseases, water scarcity, and frequent floods, all of which have posed ongoing obstacles for Yahya.
Coffee farming in Bani Ofair is more than just an occupation—it’s a way of life. The local farming community comes together during harvest to taste and assess each other’s beans, striving to continually improve quality and maintain high standards. This collaborative spirit has been central to the region’s success in producing some of Yemen’s finest coffee.
For the past seven years, we’ve worked closely with Yahya and other farmers in Bani Ofair to address the water scarcity issues threatening the region. By building water reservoirs and implementing efficient irrigation systems, we’ve helped improve water access and boost yields. Additionally, we’ve introduced carefully selected coffee seedlings that are better suited to the local environment, allowing farmers to reduce costs and increase productivity. These efforts are aimed at ensuring a sustainable future for both the farmers and the coffee they produce, preserving the legacy of Bani Ofair’s exceptional coffee for generations to come.
