Jampot Coffee Co. began its journey long before the name itself existed
Our story starts in 2014, when the first Gentlemen Baristas coffee house opened in London with one clear mission, to revive the spirit of the original London coffee houses: places where people met, debated, and shared ideas over great coffee.
That first café, The Coffee House by The Gentlemen Baristas, quickly became known for its Well-Mannered Coffee, a friendly, inclusive, and informative experience that stood apart from the pretension creeping into modern coffee culture. We made coffee that was top-notch yet approachable, and created spaces that felt like home.
Over the next decade, The Gentlemen Baristas grew into one of London’s most recognisable specialty coffee brands, with multiple sites across the city and a loyal community built on quality, character, and charm.
But as the coffee world evolved, so did we. In 2024, The Gentlemen Baristas began a new chapter by joining forces with Qima Coffee a global organisation founded in 2016, renowned for its pioneering work in coffee genetics, sustainability, and direct partnerships with smallholder farmers.
Together, we became the UK’s first fully integrated coffee roastery, connecting every link in the chain, from seed to cup, from farmer to customer.
And with this partnership, a new identity was born: Jampot Coffee Co. The name pays homage to our roots. The Jamaica Wine House, affectionately nicknamed “The Jampot,” was the birthplace of London’s coffee scene and the very place where The Gentlemen Baristas name was first conceived. Jampot bridges past and future — grounded in heritage, yet forward-looking, colourful, and inclusive.
Today, Jampot stands for coffee mastery with purpose. We believe great coffee should be accessible, sustainable, and well-mannered in every sense, kind to people and to the planet. From our close relationships with farmers to our collaborations with cafés and hospitality partners, everything we do is guided by craftsmanship, curiosity, and conscience.
From the conversation-filled coffee houses of 17th-century London to the modern roastery floor, our purpose remains the same:
to serve coffee that connects people and to do it with care.
